5 Must-Have Wedding Detail Shots
I have to admit I am a sucker for wedding day details! I love photographing pretty little things that accentuate the theme of the wedding.
Although keep in mind that not every bride wants detail shots. I make sure to have that conversation beforehand to decide if we're including these in the overall photography coverage of the day. I typically take 15-20 minutes to take these photos. Natural light is best, so I look for windows or doorways with plenty of light for my setup.
I do not bring a styling kit with me. Instead, I look for interesting patterns, reflective surfaces, or any other items that can be used to compliment my subject.
Think chairs with unique character, glass tables, fabrics or linen, glittery purses that may be laying around, mirrors, or even glassware.
I read somewhere that anything the bride spent money on, you should photograph! Here are five must-have wedding day detail shots.
1. Rings
Sparkly bling-bling photos will always add a beautiful touch to the wedding album. Talk to your bride or the maid of honor to have the wedding rings ready for you when you get to the getting-ready location.
2. Bouquet
I try to choose a background for the bridal bouquet that compliments the wedding colors, and the overall wedding theme. Bridal bouquet photographs add pops of color to the overall gallery.
3. Invitation Suite
This is another chance to capture the overall vibe of the wedding. A flatlay is a great way to photograph the wedding invitation, save the date, ceremony program, and rsvp cards. Style this with other important keepsakes or wedding rings.
4.Dress
Needless to say, the wedding dress is one of the most important details for the bride. Hanging the wedding dress by a window is always a safe bet but you can also utilize a door, a picture frame, or any other places it can hang.
5.Shoes
Gorgeous wedding shoes add so much style and finish the look. Be sure to capture these if the bride requests and it's an important detail to her.
