Saying "I Do" During The Quarantine

Remember the time when you could go out on a hot summer day and grab cold drinks with your friends and think nothing of it? Fast-forward to Spring/Summer 2020 and we have all embellished our vocabulary with words like social distancing, self-isolation, and quarantine.

Things feel and look a lot different this year with the spread of the coronavirus. Needless to say, the whole wedding industry is in shambles with couples having to reschedule or cancel their wedding plans altogether. I was pleasantly surprised to hear that Rob and Melissa decided to move forward with their plan to get married and scale down to a more intimate ceremony due to restrictions at their original wedding venue.

They decided to say their vows at Henry Park in Vernon, CT; Melissa's hometown. The Fox Hill Tower at the park is a historical monument to Vernon and Rockville Veterans. Located at the summit of Fox Hill, it overlooks historic downtown Rockville. I made sure to highlight the architectural details of the tower as we were moving around photographing the bride and groom portraits. Melissa and Rob's ceremony was a slice of happiness during a stressful time; a reminder that life goes on and that there is always a reason to celebrate!
